'Nappers Mite' - Dorchester

An Almshouse set up in Dorchester by Sir Robert Napier of Middlemarch in 1616 - now a restaurant.

The Napier Coat of Arms is carved

 on the wall inside the building

the inscription reads:-

"LA MITE NAPPEIR

BUILT TO THE HONOUR OF GOD

BIE SIR ROBERT NAPPER KNIGHT

ANNO

XENODOCHIVM"
