Samuel Day Wills II (1837 - 1909)

Samuel Day Wills was born in Bristol on 14th March 1837.  He decided that he did not want to work in the tobacco industry and instead set up his own partnership 'Samuel Wills and Company - varnish enamel and paint manufacturers.  He was a Fellow of the Chemical Society, became a deacon of Redland Park and Kingsland Congregational Churches, Treasurer of the Bristol YMCA, Director of the London Missionary Society, Vice President of Bristol Missionary Society, on the committee of the Bristol Dispensary and a J.P.
